They can live longer than any other flower that has been separated from the mother flower. Easy to grow and available in vast variety of colors, cattleya orchids are very famous for gift-giving and décor.

Another reason of their popularity is that when they bloom, they can grow up to enormous size (a size of a sunflower perhaps) which is not common for any other orchid in their blooming period.
